A BRIEF HISTORY

Our motivation for the development of our Dynamic Tapping Shield (DTS) started in Monrovia Liberia in late 2017. Latex was observed to have wasted around the base of all rubber trees. Research showed that rubber tree rain guards have been in use since the 1990s. Further research showed that Firestone Natural Rubber Company had tried three different types of rain guards and found them to not be feasible. LAC Rubber Company had also tried rain guards to no avail. A quick experiment revealed that making an inadequate seal against the tree was not the root cause of failure for the many types of rain guards on the international market. Like our initial design, rain guards on the market, over the past 30 years, fail due to their short life span of no more than a year. Our task was to develop a Rubber Tree Seal Assembly that would not only seal well against the tree but provide years of useful service. We succeeded in our pursuit with the result of a USPTO Patent issued to Carl Cooper, the CEO of Dynamic Tapping Shield LLC, on July 25th  2023. Our Patented Rubber Tree Rain Guard Seal Assembly expands with the growth of a rubber tree. See the Abstract of our patent document also displayed in the menu of this website. Large Companies are understandably very tentative in trying rain guards due to their past 30-year history of premature failures. Our Patented Seal Assembly has performed efficiently for over 2-1/2 years, we anticipate many more years of service  as our DTS Seal Assembly adapts to the growth of the tree. We believe the small farmers can relate more easily to the trial results of our patented rain guard seal assembly and hence benefit from the use of the DTS.  Take a look at our Trial Results Tabs.
